Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Substrate collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. Substrate is software for sign and print shops, operated by Better Sign Shop, LLC (“we” or “us”).

What we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, profile photo, and the shops you belong to. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that account.
• Shop information: what a shop puts into Substrate, such as customers, contacts, addresses, phone numbers, jobs, quotes, invoices, proofs, files, and messages.
• Payment information: Stripe processes card and bank payments. We store payment status and references, not full card numbers.
• Text messaging information: mobile numbers, the texts sent and received, delivery status, and records of when and how someone agreed to receive texts or opted out.
• Usage information: pages and features used, device and browser details, and server logs, so we can keep Substrate working and improve it.

How we use it

• To provide Substrate: sign you in, run your shop’s workspace, and send the emails and texts you or your shop ask us to send.
• To process payments and billing.
• To keep Substrate secure, fix problems, and improve features.
• To contact you about your account and respond to support requests.

Service providers

We share information only with providers that help us run Substrate, and only as needed for that work:

• Cloudflare, for hosting, file storage, and network delivery.
• PlanetScale, for our database.
• Stripe, for payments and billing.
• Resend, for email delivery.
• Bird, for text message delivery.
• PostHog, for product analytics.
• Anthropic and OpenRouter, for AI features that read the content you ask them to work on.
• Google and Microsoft, for sign-in, and Google Places, for address suggestions.
• Firecrawl, to read a shop’s public website during setup when the shop asks us to.

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell personal information. Mobile numbers and text messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Text messaging opt-in data is shared only with the service providers that deliver our texts.

Shops and their customers

A shop decides what customer information to put into Substrate and how to use it. If you are a customer of a shop that uses Substrate, contact that shop about your information. We will help shops respond to those requests.

How long we keep it

We keep account and shop information while the account is open. When a shop asks us to delete its information, we delete it, except records we need to keep to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or honor a text messaging opt-out.

Your choices

You can update your account details in Substrate. To get a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it, contact us at bryant@bettersignshop.com or (971) 294-2392. To stop texts, reply STOP or see the SMS Terms.

Security

We use encrypted connections and limit access to information to the people and systems that need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise information will never be exposed.

Children

Substrate is built for businesses and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
